The Victorian Tea is our signature fundraiser and an important awareness event that brings together over 300 individuals: many mothers, daughters, fathers, and sons, along with corporate, community, and church-based friends. Attendees will enjoy a traditional tea, silent auction and raffle, while learning about the award-winning work of East Liberty-based Sojourner House — a six-month residential rehabilitation program for addicted mothers and their children — and hearing the inspiring stories of the families who have lived there. Award-winning journalist Brian Cook will emcee this year’s Victorian Tea. Megs Yunn, Founder and Executive Director of Beverly’s Birthdays, will be this year’s Victorian Tea Honorary Chair.
Kathleen Hendrickson, long-time supporter and volunteer, will be honored posthumously as this year’s Pearl of Hope Honoree. “Kathy Hendrickson was one of the calmest, most considerate and compassionate people I have ever met,” said Liz Wasel, Sojourner House Volunteer Coordinator. “Kathy volunteered at Sojourner House for eight years as a homework helper for the children. Kathy had a special way of making each child feel important, even if that child was having a bad day.”
Please help us celebrate the successes of our families! Your support of the Victorian Tea will help Sojourner House as we continue our fight to keep families together so they can become healthy, productive citizens of our community.
Thank you for your generous support of Sojourner House!
