Victorian Tea Rescheduled for Aug. 16

Due to growing concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we will be rescheduling this year’s 16th Annual Victorian Tea, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2020. The Tea is rescheduled to take place virtually on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020.

We ask that everyone please help spread the word.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s understanding and help as we work to ensure the safety of those involved and to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Sojourner House will host its 16th Annual Victorian Tea virtually on Sunday, August 16, 2020, from 12:30 to 2 p.m.  Since this year’s event is 100% virtual, registration is free.

The Victorian Tea is an important awareness event and fundraiser that brings together hundreds of individuals: mothers and daughters; fathers and sons; and corporate, community, and church-based friends. Pre-Tea Time is from 12:30 until 1 p.m., where registrants can enjoy the wonderful music of Brazilian jazz singer Kenia, while viewing photos of Sojourner House events during the past year, AS WELL AS photos of registrants wearing tea hats and fascinators! Then, starting at 1 p.m., emcee and award-winning journalist Brian Cook will host a one-hour program highlighting the award-winning work of Sojourner House and Sojourner House MOMS.

This year’s Honorary Chair is Leah Lizarondo, Co-founder and CEO of 412 Food RescueChatham University’s Words Without Walls creative writing program will be this year’s Pearl of Hope Honoree.  Please help us celebrate the successes of our families, and support us as we continue our fight to keep families together so they can become healthy, productive citizens of our community.
