A Message from the Executive Director

Life at Sojourner House reminds me of the powerful bond between mothers and children. No matter how troubled their lives, children long to have a relationship with their mothers. Every day I meet courageous women whose love for their children is one of; if not the only thing in their lives powerful enough to make them want to overcome their addictions. I see children who love their mothers unconditionally, and support them no matter how many times they have been disappointed. Many women recognize how much their chemical dependency has hurt their kids, and want to get clean so they can be the mother their children deserve. Sojourner House gives them the opportunity to recover, heal, and rebuild their families.

Sojourner House was founded on the belief that mothers can most effectively break the intergenerational cycle of addiction when they are allowed to recover with their children. I am pleased to report that at the close of our fiscal year on June 30th, Sojourner House and Sojourner House MOMS served over 70 families.
