Our Mission
Long-term Housing for Families in Recovery The MOMS(Motivation, Opportunities, Mentoring and Spirituality) Program builds on Sojourner House's experience in providing a holistic mind-body-spirit approach to treating addiction. MOMS provides permanent, supported housing for low-income or homeless single dual-diagnosed women in recovery, as well as for their independent children. Families are accepted from many agencies through the Pittsburgh region.
MOMS is a "step-up" in the continuum of services for addicted parenting women. MOMS offers long-term supported housing and will be more normalized than the Sojourner House treatment program. At MOMS, families can be larger than Sojourner House and can include teenage children. MOMS includes a work-readiness/education/or volunteerism component for the mothers and extends help to youngsters including tutoring, recreation and prevention activities.
MOMS residents pay a portion of their housing and program fees and live independently with on-site staff for support.
